Adult’s Initial Consultation: this normally takes 45 min-1 hour and you’ll be required to fill in 10 minutes of paperwork beforehand (so bring glasses if necessary!)
During your first consultation with the chiropractor, you’ll discuss any health-related issues and concerns. In order to pinpoint your problem, the chiropractor will ask you a number of questions related to your condition. A variety of targeted tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. If X-rays or an MRI are then deemed necessary to either rule out more serious conditions or to assist us in assessing the most effective treatment plan for you, we can either do this via your GP or refer you locally to a private imaging clinic.
A confidential report of findings will then be arranged for a subsequent date.
This is where we explain what we found in the initial exam, discuss any X-Ray or MRI findings and talk about potential treatment options. If we feel we can help, an explanation of the treatment protocols we offer and what this means to you in cost and time will be discussed. Its also your opportunity to ask any questions. If you decide to go ahead with treatment , this will immediately follow the report of findings.
If you decide to have chiropractic care, then after your chiropractic session and before leaving, you may be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be carried out at home. This may include ice or heat applications, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises.
